Poundhound is the solo project by dUg Pinnick of King's X
where he plays bass and vocals in the Supergroup, in this one he
handles the guitar work. Whereas King's X has a variety of influences,
this is pretty much All Dug (vocals, guitar, bass, production, with
King's X Jerry Gaskill on drums in the studio, and Eric Tatuoca of Galactic Cowboys on Tour) and tends to have far
more of his openly funky sensibilities to the grooves.
Back in the early days of King's X dug used to call the sound they created "The Pound", so in a way this solo project of his was simply a little more focused version of that idea - locking onto "The Pound" with a set of steel teeth and not letting go for anything.
