With former Soundgarden vocalist Chris Cornell, and the RATM rhythm section of Brad Wilk and Tim Commerford this was truly one powerhouse of a band.
Brought together by producer Rick Rubin after the departure of Zach De La Rocha from RATM, Audioslave was together from 2001 - 2007 and ultimately recorded 3 Full Length albums before separating with new lead singer Cornell due to "irreconcilable personal and musical differences" - but while they were together they made a sound that was both beautifully melodic and smashed down as hard as a neumatic sledgehammer.
